Job summary

The CAMHS Crisis Team at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides specialist mental health crisis support for children, young people and families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Job description

The CAMHS Crisis Team provides specialist mental health crisis support to children, young people and their families/carers across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The service operates from three sites: the Urgent Care Hub at Bradgate Mental Health Unit, the Children's Emergency Department at Leicester Royal Infirmary, and the Valentine Centre in Beaumont Leys. We are looking for experienced practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds, including nursing, social work and occupational therapy, to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. As a 24/7 service, successful applicants will work a rotational shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays, with flexible working opportunities available in line with Trust policies. Our role involves undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments, developing clinical formulations and providing brief interventions for children and young people experiencing a crisis, ensuring they feel supported, understood and involved in their care. As Lead Professional for young people receiving home treatment, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, person-centred care, assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing specialist care plans. Working closely with families, carers and partner agencies, you will help ensure timely and effective support that promotes recovery, resilience and positive outcomes. You will use your clinical judgement to assess risk, make informed decisions and provide interventions that meet the needs of young people and their families. Strong communication, assessment and risk management skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This is a community-based role requiring travel across the service area. Applicants must have access to suitable transport, as public transport alone may not meet service requirements.
