Job summary

First Base is seeking an experienced CAM Engineer in Nuneaton to join our established Engineering team. You will create accurate CNC programmes from CAD models and drawings, ensuring safe, efficient manufacture to the highest standards.

Collaborate with Engineering, CNC Machinists and Production to optimise machining strategies, improve efficiency, and provide technical support throughout production.

Qualifications

• Proven CAM programming experience in a precision machining environment.
• Ability to develop complex 3+2 toolpaths and understand CNC milling processes.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Understand machining strategies, cutting tools, feeds and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality CNC programmes using CAM software (PowerMill, WorkNC).
• Develop efficient, collision-free toolpaths for complex components.
• Support production by maintaining and improving programmes for repeat/high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings/CAD data to develop manufacturing solutions.
• Select tooling and strategies to maximise efficiency and quality.
• Assist CNC Machinists during prove-out and first-off manufacture.
