Job summary

Clarendon Academy is seeking a calm, confident and organised Cover Hub Supervisor to oversee multiple classes in a large shared teaching space. You will ensure students stay focused on pre-set work, while not planning or marking lessons.

Based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, the role is part-time (32.5 hours/week, 39 weeks/year) with strong support from senior leaders and a dedicated behaviour team to help maintain disruption-free learning.

Qualifications

• Has at least grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• Has a passion for supporting young people in their development.
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents.
• Is self-motivated, consistent and organised.
• Has the ability to remain calm and authoritative in a busy environment.
• Is a strong team player, good at building relationships.
• Has a confident, resilient and flexible attitude.
• Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social, emotional and mental wellbeing.
• Has experience of supporting students learning.
• Has experience of effective classroom management as a classroom teacher or cover supervisor (advantageous).
• Has a desire to support students without the responsibilities of planning or marking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple classes in a large shared teaching space.
• Ensure students remain focused while completing pre-set work.
• Maintain a purposeful learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Support senior leaders and the centralised behaviour team as needed.
• Direct students not meeting expectations to complete their work in the behaviour suite.
