Qualifications

  • PIP 2 accreditation required.
  • Experience writing investigative reports.
  • Experience dealing with the public.
  • Experience in investigations and interviews.
  • Experience working in multi-agency environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into child abuse cases involving inter-family or position-of-trust, where the child is under 18.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies (social workers, medical, legal) to secure the best outcome for the child.
  • Apply Achieving Best Evidence principles in interviews with victims and witnesses.
  • Conduct challenging and considered interviews with suspects.
  • Remain up-to-date with child protection developments to provide the best service.

What you will be doing
  • Conduct thorough and sensitive investigations into cases involving inter-familial and position of trust child abuse, where the child is under 18 at the time of reporting.
  • Collaborate with a partner agencies including social workers, medical staff, and legal professionals, to secure the best outcome for the child.
  • Consider and apply Achieving Best Evidence for interviews of victims and witnesses.
  • Conduct challenging and considered interviews with suspects.
  • Remain current with developments in child protection to ensure the best service is offered.
About you and your experience
  • PIP 2 Accredited
  • Previous experience of report writing
  • Working within an environment of dealing with the public
  • Experience in investigating matters and carrying out interviews
  • Experience in working within a multi-agency environment with a variety of different agencies
