Job summary

Compass Group UK&I in Portsmouth is hiring a part-time Cafe Supervisor to support smooth operations at a major High Street brand. The role is contracted to 30 hours per week and focuses on delivering high-quality service.

You will supervise frontline staff, manage rotas, check deliveries, and oversee stock. The role requires strong communication, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to food hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Check and store deliveries promptly and correctly.
• Supervise a team and create a welcoming, supportive environment.
• Be a responsible key holder.
• Assist with weekly bookwork and other duties as needed.
• Produce weekly rotas following manager guidelines.
• Place orders to maintain stock levels.
• Delegate tasks and ensure proactivity of the team.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cafe Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in a major High Street brand on a part time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities may include:

• Ensuring all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly
• Supervising a team, creating a positive environment where the team feel welcomed and supported
• Being a responsible key holder
• Assisting with weekly bookwork and any other duties that are necessary
• Producing weekly rotas following the manager's guidelines
• Placing orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels
• Delegating where necessary and ensuring the team are proactive at all times
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations

Our ideal Cafe Supervisor will:

• Previous experience supervising frontline teams within a similar environment
• Good communication skills with a focus on great Customer Service
• Team player and can-do attitude
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude
