Job summary

Restaurant Associates operates a small catering unit at HSBC Wakefield and is seeking a Café Supervisor to run it independently with around 50 on-site customers. You will prepare breakfasts and sandwiches, deliver warm, engaging service, and take ownership of daily operations.

You will work daytime shifts, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, ensuring stock control, till reconciliation, and strict adherence to food safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Be trustworthy, reliable, punctual and comfortable working alone.
  • Have previous catering or foodservice experience.
  • Be confident preparing simple hot food and made-to-order sandwiches.
  • Have excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills.
  • Be comfortable managing ordering, stock, tills and basic financial records.
  • Hold a Level 2 Food Safety qualification, or be willing to complete the required training.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel as reasonably required.

Responsibilities

  • Opening, operating and closing the unit independently.
  • Placing orders, checking deliveries and managing stock and waste.
  • Completing till reconciliations, invoices and other finance administration accurately.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and secure working environment.
  • Completing all food safety, allergen, HSE, COSHH and compliance checks.
  • Following lone-working, security and emergency procedures.
  • Escalating any operational or safety concerns to the Regional Manager.

Job description

We're recruiting a reliable and engaging Café Supervisor to independently run a small Restaurant Associates catering operation at HSBC Wakefield, serving approximately 50 customers on site. This is a quiet, hands-on role where you will take ownership of the daily service, preparing made-to-order breakfasts and sandwiches while creating a warm and welcoming customer experience. You will work independently, with ad-hoc support from the Regional Manager.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, daytime hours. Contract: Full time, 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities
