Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking a Café Supervisor to independently run a small Restaurant Associates operation at HSBC Wakefield, serving approximately 50 on-site customers. You will manage daily service, preparing made-to-order breakfasts and sandwiches while creating a warm, welcoming customer experience.

This quiet, hands-on role involves working alone with ad-hoc support from the Regional Manager, handling ordering, stock, tills and basic financial records, and ensuring high standards of food

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or foodservice is preferred.
• Hold a Level 2 Food Safety qualification or be willing to complete training.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving breakfasts, sandwiches and other simple items to order.
• Providing friendly, professional customer service.
• Opening, operating and closing the unit independently.
• Placing orders, checking deliveries and managing stock and waste.
• Completing till reconciliations and finance administration.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and secure working environment.
• Completing all food safety, allergen, HSE, COSHH and compliance checks.
• Following lone-working, security and emergency procedures.
• Escalating operational or safety concerns to the Regional Manager.

Job description

We’re recruiting a reliable and engaging Café Supervisor to independently run a small Restaurant Associates catering operation at HSBC Wakefield, servingapproximately 50 customers on site.
This is a quiet, hands‑on role where you will take ownership of the daily service, preparing made-to-order breakfasts and sandwiches while creating a warm andwelcoming customer experience. You will work independently, with ad‑hoc support from the Regional Manager.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, daytime hours
Contract: Full time, 35 hours per week

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving breakfasts, sandwiches and other simple food items to order
• Providing friendly, professional and engaging customer service
• Opening, operating and closing the unit independently
• Placing orders, checking deliveries and managing stock and waste
• Completing till reconciliations, invoices and other finance administration accurately
• Maintaining a clean, organised and secure working environment
• Completing all food safety, allergen, HSE, COSHH and compliance checks
• Following lone-working, security and emergency procedures
• Escalating any operational or safety concerns to the Regional Manager

Our ideal Café Supervisor will:

• Be trustworthy, reliable, punctual and comfortable working alone
• Have previous catering or foodservice experience
• Be confident preparing simple hot food and made-to-order sandwiches
• Have excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills
• Be comfortable managing ordering, stock, tills and basic financial records
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, compliance and cleanliness
• Hold a Level 2 Food Safety qualification, or be willing to complete the required training
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel as reasonably required
