Job summary

Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate is hiring a Staff Cafe Assistant in our Bettys Bakery Staff Café to cook and serve breakfast, lunches and snacks for around 160 colleagues throughout the day on a 40-hour, 5-days-over-7 pattern. Shifts run 4am–4pm, with most starting 6:30–7:30am, on a rotating schedule.

You should have cooking experience in a busy kitchen, good numeracy and literacy, and the ability to follow instructions and communicate well.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking and working in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to respond to the needs of those around you.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Formal qualifications are less important than numeracy and literacy levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot food, soups, salads and sandwiches.
• Maintain high food safety procedures.
• Clean and provide some serving.
• Support menu planning and ordering.
