Job Title: Cafe Coordinator
Reports to: Team Leader
Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Part Time (18.75 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu planning with an emphasis on healthy food options
- Deliver freshly cooked, nutritional and affordable food menus
- Prepare menus within budget
- Maintain high levels of kitchen hygiene
- Deliver consistent quality service
- Create a customer-focused environment both in the kitchen and front of house
- Control stock levels and orders
- Manage daily reconciliations
- Maintain accurate daily records for environmental health checks
- Develop a food safety management system
- Ensure all areas of the café fully comply with environmental standards and food safety regulations
- Develop and maintain HACCP
- Encourage and develop community groups and activities
- Liaise with the Café Volunteer Coordinator (CVC) and support volunteer supervision as needed
- Support volunteer training and inductions
- Maintain and develop relationships with St Basils volunteers
- Coordinate and support on-ground events with the CVC
- Build relationships with third parties supporting St Basils (e.g., corporate partners, event hosts, local authorities)
- Handle administrative tasks such as volunteer expenses in the absence of the CVC
- Assist in creating Volunteer Policies with the CVC
- Report on volunteering activities when CVC is absent
- Manage volunteers’ rota when CVC is unavailable
Qualifications
Essential:
- L3 CIEH Food Safety & Catering or equivalent
Desirable:
- Leadership or Management qualification
