Job summary

Longacres Garden Centre in Shepperton is seeking a chef to join our busy café team. You will work with our kitchen staff to prepare customers’ orders to a high standard in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers retail-style hours with no evenings or split shifts, opportunities for development, and a supportive team culture focused on great food and service. You will also help with stock rotation, cleanliness and collaboration with the Head Chef.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Experience working with fresh ingredients.
• Calm under pressure and good time management.
• Reliable, hands-on and committed to great food and service.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients such as meats and vegetables.
• Complete customer orders in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and Cooks to prep meals.
• Clean the kitchen space and sanitize after each shift.
• Rotate stock items as per procedures.
• Restock pantry and fridge as necessary.
• Store food items at appropriate temperatures.
