Job summary

Unknown is seeking a CAD Designer to join their on-site team in Colchester. The role involves producing layout drawings and calculations, coordinating with clients, architects, and engineers, and issuing drawings with accompanying letters. A training plan will be provided, with base creation in CAD design.

Experience in the construction industry and strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook are preferred. You must have transport to attend site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Produce layout drawings and calculations using AutoCAD and Excel.
• Contact Clients, Architects & Engineers to obtain design details, comments/amendments/approvals of working drawings.
• Issue manufacturing schedules to factories.
• Issue drawings with covering letters/emails.
• Raise adjustments on orders to suit customer requirements and update database.
• Communicate relevant information to other departments.

Do you have knowledge of the construction industry or have done qualifications in construction? Can you use AutoCAD? If so, a leading supplier of high-quality construction products are looking to recruit a highly motivated Designer to join their team in Colchester.

Salary - £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

There will be a full training plan in place, providing the successful candidate has a foundation level of education or experience in CAD Design.

Duties

• Working in a busy design team to produce layout drawings and calculations using
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Contact Clients, Architects & Engineers via telephone/email to obtain design details, comments / amendments / approvals of working drawings
• Issuing manufacturing schedules to factories
• Issue drawings with covering letters/emails
• Raising Adjustments on orders to suit customer's requirements and update database
• Communicating relevant information to other departments

Experience

• Construction industry knowledge gained through education or experience preferably
• A good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must have excellent organisational & communication skills coupled with good time management and a sense of urgency
• Attention to detail is essential with a confident and professional telephone manner
