Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in Basingstoke, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive CAD Technician / Draughtsperson to join their design and engineering team.

CAD Technician Job Overview

1. Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
2. Interpret technical briefs and convert concept designs into precise drawings.
3. Work closely with design engineers and project managers to develop cost-effective and practical design solutions.
4. Assist in revising existing designs and technical documentation as required.
5. Maintain drawing standards and ensure documentation complies with relevant regulations and internal procedures.
6. Support prototype development and liaise with manufacturing teams to resolve any drawing-related issues.

Job Requirements

1. Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
2. Understanding of engineering and technical drawing standards, with knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
4. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
5. Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is preferred; graduates are encouraged to apply.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range is £28,000 - £34,000, depending on experience.
