Job summary

Altera Recruitment Group Ltd in Hampshire seeks a CAD Designer to own steelwork detailing, turning architects' and engineers' drawings into accurate 3D Advance Steel models and shop drawings. You will work with fabricators, ensuring buildability and timely delivery across UK projects.

The role requires 1+ year of steel detailing, proficiency in Advance Steel or Tekla (with willingness to switch), AutoCAD, and a sharp eye for detail. Hybrid work is available with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience detailing steelwork in structural or architectural metalwork.
• Proficient with Advance Steel or Tekla Structures with willingness to switch to Advance Steel.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and reading complex drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and GA/fabrication drawings from engineers' drawings.
• Produce material and bolt lists, NC and DXF files for fabrication.
• Detail connections per engineer's requirements and flag clashes early.
• Liaise with fabricators and site teams; manage revisions and approvals.
• Support sister company with drawings for spectator stands.
