Job summary

Situations Vacant Ltd, based in Salisbury, seeks an engineer with strong CAD capabilities to design equipment and components in collaboration with Design & Project Engineers.

The role involves preparing 2D and 3D CAD drawings, performing general draughting for projects and bids, and maintaining the Drawing/Design Improvement Register. Excellent communication and high accuracy are essential. The position is on-site with a salary in the £25k–£40k range.

Qualifications

• Experience designing equipment with engineers and preparing drawings using CAD packages.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD for fabrication drawings.
• General draughting support for projects and bids.
• Maintain Drawing/Design Improvement Register.
• Liaise with fabricators and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Third level qualification in engineering, architecture or similar.
• Excellent CAD skills and high accuracy required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Required Skills

• Design of equipment or components in cooperation with Design & Project Engineers
• Preparing design and fabrication drawings using 2D & 3 D CAD packages

• Compiling and maintaining Drawing/Design Improvement Register
• Liaison with fabricators & suppliers
• Third level qualification in engineering, architecture or similar
• Excellent CAD skills
• Ability to achieve high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills required
