Job summary

I Holland Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled toolmaker to use CAD/CAM software to create models of master parts and to manufacture master hobs for tablet tooling.

The role involves operating the die mould CNC milling machine, performing precise measurement with micrometres, Vernier calipers, and vision systems, and supporting downstream engineering processes, with shift patterns and Profit Related Pay, plus a bonus scheme.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD/CAM software to create models and programmes of master parts for the manufacturing of tablet compression tooling.
• To carry out the manufacture of parts working from master tablet tooling designs and drawings.
• To operate the die mould CNC milling machine.
• To carry out inspection and visual validation using various measuring equipment and vision systems.
• Including but not limited to micrometres, Vernier calipers, bench clocks, countour tracers, shadow graphs and digital cameras.
• To finish and polish fine detailed embossing and other features to a high accuracy, meeting manufacturing specification.
• To complete process checks and update schedules using various applications within Microsoft 360.
• To support downstream engineering processes.
• To support on other machining operations if required.

Job purpose

To use CAD/CAM software to create models of master parts. Responsible for the manufacture of ‘Master Hobs’ which will provide the optimum punch tabletting face for the highest quality tablets and trouble-free production, according to customer requirements.

• Use CAD/CAM software to create models and programmes of master parts for the manufacturing of tablet compression tooling.
• To carry out the manufacture of parts working from master tablet tooling designs and drawings.
• To operate the die mould CNC milling machine.
• To carry out inspection and visual validation using various measuring equipment and vision systems. Including but not limited to micrometres, Vernier calipers, bench clocks, countour tracers, shadow graphs and digital cameras.

Preferred qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing, ideally with similar industry experience.
• Ability to interpret details instructions, engineering drawings, and technical reports.
• A good understanding of measurement and Quality aspects.
• Proactive approach to production line equipment, with the implementation of continuous improvements to drive better performance.
• Preferred understanding of QRM or a similar environment of manufacturing lead times.
• Team player, flexible with hours of work, excellent communication skills.
• Ability to contribute effectively as part of a larger team - essential.

• Eagerness to learn and adaptive in approach.

Pay Grade will depend on skills and experience. We may consider training for the right person and the pay grade will reflect this. Shift pay of 18% is included as you must work a morning and afternoon shift pattern between 6am - 10pm and 1 in 5 Saturday morning.

I Holland operate a Profit Related Payment (P.R.P.) Bonus Scheme. All employees, will be eligible for payments under the rules of the scheme, following successful completion of a probationary period.
