Job summary

AWD online is seeking a CAD / CAM Programmer to turn customer drawings and models into production-ready manufacturing information in a busy subcontract engineering environment. You will prepare clear manufacturing packs by combining CAD drawings, models and offline CNC programs to support quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong CNC machining knowledge, engineering drawing skills and a precise, structured approach.

Qualifications

Previous experience producing drawings and models and carrying out offline programming.
Strong understanding of CNC machining and engineering drawings.
Able to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances and GDTs.
Experience with CAD/CAM and manufacturing documentation.
Strong attention to quality and accuracy with a structured approach.
Able to identify issues early and solve problems effectively.
Organised and able to manage multiple jobs.
Desirable: Experience using Discus software or similar.
Desirable: Measurement skills using manual or digital equipment.

Responsibilities

Create accurate drawings and models for production.
Check client drawings and identify missing or conflicting dimensions and tolerances.
Produce CNC programs offline and run simulations to prove out work before production.
Create manufacturing packs, ballooned drawings and feature lists.
Provide drawing and documentation support to production.
