Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a CAD Technician to join a busy nationwide CAD team, delivering engineering drawings across infrastructure and energy projects. You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM tools to produce high-quality outputs for tenders, contracts and reports.

You should have 2+ years in civil CAD related to geotechnical/infrastructure work, be comfortable with multiple software suites, and be able to collaborate with senior engineers while managing own tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil CAD/CAM in geotechnical/infrastructure projects.
• Must be able to produce high quality CAD output for reports and contracts.
• Experience in BIM environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings for reports, contracts and tenders.
• Apply published CAD standards for Ground Engineering.
• Collaborate within a nationwide CAD team and with senior engineering staff.
• Be flexible to adapt CAD task programs to client and project requirements.

You should be curious about the world around you, interested in engineering and always want to learn more. ## Your role * Working knowledge of Autodesk Software’s including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Navisworks.* Working knowledge of Bentley Software’s including MicroStation, OpenGround and ProjectWise.* Knowledge of Keyhole/HoleBase geotechnical software.* To provide Engineering drawings which are core to the business and will form part of essential reports, contract documentation and project tenders etc.* To apply and adhere to published CAD standards for Ground Engineering.* Must be flexible and adaptable regarding CAD task programmes with respect to both client and project requirements.## About you The successful candidate will be expected to have the following core attributes:* Be able to work with limited supervision.* Be willing to learn new software.* Ability to collaborate successfully within a project and team environment but also to work independently.* Have the desire and confidence to create neat and accurate technical drawings.* Be a team player with creativity, dedication, good communication skills and able to communicate well with senior engineering staff about project objectives and details.* Good communication skills.* Flexible and engaging with resilience, drive, and self-motivation.* A self-reliant work ethic with sound time management skills.* BEng, HNC or similar in Civil Engineering, CAD or related course with at least 2 years’ experience.* A member of (or working towards) an appropriate professional body such as: Engineering Technician (EngTech) is desirable.* Have an understanding of Civil Engineering.* Ability to produce models using Civil 3D.* Be fully conversant in AutoCAD.* Be able to produce high quality output from CAD systems for use in contract documents and reports in a civil engineering environment.* Experience working in a BIM environment.* Hold the motivation to work effectively as a fully participating member of a busy nationwide CAD team within the business.* Have ability and desire to work on a diverse range of projects, good organisation skills, able to prioritise and manage tasks effectively.## Rewards & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
