Job summary
Boeing in the United Kingdom is seeking a Software Simulation Engineer to design and develop simulation models, visualizations, and frameworks that improve test performance, safety and durability across the product lifecycle. The role requires a BS degree in engineering or related fields, ability to obtain UK security clearance, and proficiency in C++ or Lua.
Applicants must be UK citizens and willing to work primarily in an office environment, with some Bristol options.

Responsibilities
- Supports the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Supports partnership with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
- Supports designing, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.

- Supports the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.

- Supports designing, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Proficiency in C++, Lua Scripting or one of the similar programming languages
- Familiarity with Physics based Modelling and Simulation system Engineering principals
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, BitBucket etc).
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Automation and CICD concepts.
- Understanding of testing frameworks and unit testing practices.
- Experience working as a Software Simulation Engineer or a similar role
- Experience across Software Development Lifecycle and Software standards such as ISO9001.
- Understanding of the distributed interoperability simulation protocols used within defence collective training (e.g., DIS and HLA).
- Understanding and experience of the COTS simulation and training environment development, execution, verification, validation and deployments
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and software design principles.
Location The primary locations for our Engineering teams is Fleet, with the general expectation of minimum 3 days a week in the office to foster collaboration and team efficiency. We will also consider applicants who may prefer to be based out of our Bristol offices, and potentially others dependent on the suitability of the candidate. Important information regarding this requisition: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. CANDIDATES MUST BE A UK CITIZEN AND HAVE CURRENT LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE UK.
