Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a C++ Software Engineer for an on-site role in Rochester, Kent. You will lead embedded software design, from drivers to protocols, and help architect systems from requirements.

The position covers Senior to Principal levels with salary reflecting skill and responsibility. On-site environment with aerospace-domain projects and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in engineering/science (electronics/software/physics/maths).
• Significant C/C++ experience.
• Extensive experience with model-based design and UML using tools like Cameo/EA/Rhapsody/Integrity.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware in a real-time environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of embedded software including drivers and protocols.
• Define system and software architectures from requirements using structured design and modelling.
• Drive integration, verification and validation in a safety-critical environment.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews and best practices.
• Deliver reliable estimates, sizing and reuse considerations.
• Engage with customers to shape solutions and resolve technical challenges.
• Contribute to engineering processes and design reviews for compliant delivery.

Role: C++ Software Engineer

Location: Rochester, Kent - On-site

Salary: 45,000 - 65,000 depending on experience

Experienced C++ Software Engineer needed in Rochester to work on cutting edge systems within the aerospace industry.

Positions are available from Senior to Principal level with salary offered reflecting skill level & responsibility.

What the role of the C++ Software Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the C++ Software Engineer will include:

• Leading design and development of embedded software, including drivers, protocols, human-machine interfaces with certification artefacts
• Defining system and software architectures from requirements using structured design, modelling and simulation
• Driving integration, verification and validation within a safety critical environment
• Providing technical leadership through mentoring, peer reviews and best practice
• Delivering reliable estimates, including sizing and reuse
• Engaging with customers to resolve technical challenges and shape solutions
• Contributing to engineering processes, design reviews and strategic decisions, ensuring high quality, compliant delivery

What experience you need to be the successful C++ Software Engineer:

• A degree or equivalent experience in a Scientific/Engineering (electronics-engineering, software-engineering, physics, math's) environment
• Significant experience in C/C++
• Extensive experience of Software Architecture Design using UML or other recognised model-based design techniques as well as experience in UML for software design in CAMEO, EA, Rhapsody or integrity Modeler
• Extensive experience of interfacing software with hardware in a real-time environment and development experience
