Job summary

Tiger Resourcing Group currently seeks a C++/Qt Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain software for onshore, offshore, and transportation markets. You will work on a Linux-based control system, extending a Qt-based GUI and refining the client/server and audio routing layers, while adhering to a safety-conscious lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in C++ (14/17 or newer) with OO design.
• Proven Qt5 GUI development and testing in VSCode or Qt Creator.
• Solid software architecture, concurrency and testable code.
• Good knowledge of Linux for development and targets.
• Experience with Git in a collaborative team.
• Familiarity with XML for config and data interchange.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Bash scripting for development/build tasks.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Teams and Slack.
• Knowledge of VoIP/telephony: Asterisk, SIP, PCM.
• PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Docker and virtualization: Docker, VirtualBox.
• Python scripting.
• Test-driven development (TDD) practices.
• Knowledge of XMPP or ONVIF protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain features across the control system platform in C++ on Linux.
• Develop and evolve the operator-facing GUI (Qt) and client/server architecture.
• Work within a safety-conscious development lifecycle producing design, traceability and verification evidence.
• Participate in design and code reviews; uphold coding standards and mentor engineers.
• Integrate with audio routing, SIP/RTP, multicast audio over IP networks.
• Diagnose and resolve defects across software, network and integration boundaries.
• Engage with Project, Product, QA and customer stakeholders to meet milestones.
