Job summary

Carbon 60 is seeking an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a defence-focused engineering team in Bristol on a 12-month contract. You will redevelop a greenfield software console application, delivering a modern, maintainable solution with Qt and C++.

The role involves autonomous work within a wider team, contributing to architecture, verification, and documentation to support certification. Onsite 5 days per week with a competitive hourly rate of 65-70 GBP Inside IR35.

C++ Software Engineer - 12 Month Contract

Bristol 5 Days Onsite 65-70 per hour (Inside IR35) Initial 12 Month Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering organisation working on complex, safety-critical defence systems.

You will play a key role in the redevelopment of an existing software console application, creating a modern, maintainable and verifiable solution from the ground up. This is a greenfield redevelopment project rather than an upgrade, offering the chance to have significant influence over the software architecture and technical direction. The role will primarily involve working independently while collaborating closely with a wider engineering team to ensure seamless integration within a larger system environment.

Key Responsibilities
