Job Description: C# .NET Software Developer

Our client, an insurance underwriter based in the City of London, is looking to expand their software development team by recruiting a C# .NET Software Developer.

Key Requirements:

• At least 5 to 7 years of experience in developing complex software with C#.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in C# development, Java/jQuery web development, Web API, CSS.
• Solid SQL Server experience, including stored procedures, table design, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including VBA, Excel, and HTML/IIS.
• Experience with Visual Studio and supporting applications, including SharePoint reporting.
• A drive to succeed, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate and promote improvements to MI and analysis.
• Analyze requirements and provide suitable solutions using appropriate technologies.
• Document, support, and upgrade internal applications and processes.
• Support ad hoc reporting and analysis in the Data Warehouse.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

The role requires flexibility, as you will have primary responsibility for specific systems but should be aware of the overall system landscape.

The client uses Windows Servers, virtualized Windows clients, Microsoft Office products, Office 365, SQL Server, and SharePoint. They also utilize Eclipse for underwriting, Sun for accounts, RMS for modeling, and Remetrica for actuarial functions.

The salary is up to £50K, with exceptional candidates potentially earning more. The company is open to junior candidates with a strong ability to learn, offering £25K - £30K. A 2:1 degree in maths, computer science, or similar is required.
