Fitness Superstore is seeking a Buying Assistant for our Head Office to support growth of our fitness and gym equipment ranges for commercial and home users.

Reporting to the Head of Product Development & Procurement, you will manage purchase orders, maintain data, liaise with suppliers, monitor stock, assist with sales and margin reporting, and work with warehouse and customer service on launches and deliveries.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling product, pricing, and stock information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Support Head of Product Development & Procurement and the Buying Team with day-to-day management of commercial and home fitness equipment ranges, suppliers, and purchase orders.
• Raise, update, and track purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of stock into the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate product data, including specifications, pricing, and supplier details across internal systems.
• Liaise with UK and international suppliers on lead times, order confirmations, delivery dates, and issues affecting availability.
• Monitor stock levels and availability across treadmill, strength equipment, weights, and accessory lines; flag shortages or overstock.
• Assist with basic sales and margin reporting to support buying decisions, promotions, and range reviews.
• Collaborate with warehouse, e-commerce, and customer service teams to ensure launches, promotions, and deliveries run smoothly.
• Support setup of new products ensuring data, images, and specifications are complete for both commercial and home users.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Head Office Buying Team for a Buying Assistant to support the continued growth of our fitness and gym equipment ranges for both commercial and home users, working with leading brands across cardio, strength, and accessories.

Reporting to the Head of Product Development & Procurement, this role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in retail buying within a specialist fitness and gym equipment business.

Join us as a Buying Assistant earning a salary of £27,000 per annum.

A Buying Assistant at Fitness Superstore, will…

• Support the Head of Product Development & Procurement and the wider Buying Team with the day-to-day management of our commercial and home fitness equipment ranges, suppliers, and purchase orders.

• Monitor stock levels and availability across key product lines such as treadmills, strength equipment, weights, and accessories, highlighting potential shortages or overstock.
• Assist with basic sales and margin reporting to support buying decisions, promotions, and range reviews.
• Work closely with the warehouse, e-commerce, and customer service teams to ensure product launches, promotions, and deliveries run smoothly.
• Support the set-up of new products, ensuring all data, images, and technical specifications are accurate and complete for both commercial and home users.
• Help resolve stock, delivery, and product-related queries from internal teams and suppliers.

Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00.

The successful Buying Assistant will have…

• Have at least 12 months experience in an office-based role, ideally within buying, merchandising, supply chain, or a similar commercial environment.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling product, pricing, and stock information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A proactive, organised, and solution-faced approach to work.
• Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• An interest in fitness, sport or gym equipment would be a distinct advantage.
