Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Buyer for Merthyr Tydfil to join a market-leading manufacturer. The role is site-based and supports procurement activities to ensure production schedules are met.

You will manage supplier relationships, handle MRP tasks, and contribute to cost and quality improvements. Salary up to £40,000 DOE, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing procurement experience, including reading technical drawings, with an engineering background preferred.
• Ability to build supplier relationships and engage with suppliers.
• Effective communicator with a good understanding of techniques that drive quality and cost improvement.
• Experience with supplier KPIs and performance management.
• Drafting standard letters and responses when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Buyer, performing routine day-to-day activities associated with products and services, including administering and expediting purchase orders.
• Manage MRP requirements to satisfy production schedules and implement appropriate recovery plans, including shortage reporting and resolution.
• Receive Bills of Materials and carry out system checks on materials and services to be supplied to projects and shipping requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price and lead times, resolving any supply chain issues.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to respond to routine queries regarding contract and supply chain issues.
• Provide input to project meetings to answer questions concerning contract and supply chain matters.
• Monitor and measure process performance, producing regular and accurate management information and reports as required.

What We Offer
