Job summary

Rise Resourcing is seeking an experienced Buyer for a prominent food retailer in Wembley. You will take ownership of the commercial and trading strategy for Impulse categories to drive sales and profitability.

You will build strong supplier relationships, seek new suppliers, analyse sales data, and present trends to the Senior Management team. Strong negotiation and MS Office skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven Buying experience within a fast-moving FMCG / Food environment.
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and liaise at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Take full end-to-end ownership of the commercial & trading strategy for Impulse categories.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Maintain outstanding levels of supplier service and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Proactively seek new suppliers to strengthen the commercial offer or introduce new products.
• Analyse sales figures to plan future lines with the own brand team.
• Present reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team.

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a successful food retailer within their growing team.

You will be responsible for driving the Buying strategy to ensure the growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development within the impulse category.

• Take full end to end ownership of the commercial & trading strategy for Impulse categories
• Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
• Maintain outstanding levels of supplier service and work seamlessly with internal departments to resolve and issues promptly.
• Always seeking new suppliers to deliver a stronger commercial offer than current suppliers, or to supply new / alternate products and categories to the business
• Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the own brand team.
• Presenting reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team

Key requirements for the role;

• Proven previous Buying experience within a fast-moving FMCG / Food environment.
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing retail market.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
• Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
