About the role

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sourcing or Procurement professional operating at buyer level to join our Global Sourcing team within the EU Sourcing division in Nottingham. The role involves some national and international travel.

Reporting into the Buying Manager, you will be delivering an exciting project as we look to move key Boots Brand Healthcare lines to an alternative source while ensuring we have a customer offering for the consumer at all times during the transfer.

This is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking to expand their responsibilities by managing stakeholders at more senior levels and taking on key areas of work. You will report to a Buying Manager who oversees a broader area within the EU sourcing team, responsible for suppliers in that region.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Accountable for driving profit and margin for the retailer.
2. Supporting the management of ongoing and new vendor relationships and supplier performance.
3. Ensuring regular supplier meetings to establish new relationships and maintain ongoing success, ensuring work streams stay on track.
4. Supporting business recommendations through research and analysis, aiding in supplier selection in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
5. Supporting the development and optimization of a supply base that enables differentiated New Product Development (NPD).
6. Managing categories alongside your fellow Buyers in a similar role, in addition to the alternative source project.

What you'll need to have

1. A strong cross-functional team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
2. Experience managing negotiations for spend categories over $5 million, ideally on a global level.
3. Proven track record of implementing category sourcing strategies with exceptional results.
4. Knowledge of strategic sourcing/procurement lifecycle and best practices.
5. Strong commercial acumen.
6. Experience working with Profit & Loss concepts, such as revenue, COGS, gross profit margin, operating expenses, and cash flow, with a focus on profit enhancement opportunities.
