Job Opportunity: Retail Buyer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Retail Buyer to join a leading retailer based within their North West office. Located conveniently for most areas in the North West, this role offers a chance to be part of a growing commercial team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
2. Sourcing suppliers and negotiating best cost prices
3. Analyzing sales figures to plan successful future lines
4. Reviewing levels of own brand stock to ensure adequate availability and minimize risks
5. Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
6. Dealing with and resolving escalated supplier queries
7. Analyzing market trends and competitor activity
8. Collaborating with the own brand development team to ensure new products align with department business plans

Key requirements:

• Proven experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, or Buying Manager within a fast-paced retail environment (FMCG, Food, Brands)
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
• Adaptability in a dynamic, changing market
• Good educational background; a degree is preferable
• Excellent communication skills for effective liaison at all levels
• Strong knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Excel skills
