Job summary

NOTE Basildon is seeking a commercially minded Buyer to join our Commercial team. You will manage purchasing of materials and components, develop supplier relationships and ensure material availability to support production schedules.

You will be responsible for expediting deliveries, maintaining data in MRP systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires at least 2 years in buying within manufacturing and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' buying or purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and supplier management skills.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience within electronics manufacturing, electronic components or EMS environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining and negotiating supplier quotations.
• Raising and managing purchase orders.
• Monitoring MRP messages and material requirements.
• Managing supplier deliveries, reschedules and expedites.
• Supporting production through effective shortage management.

Are you an experienced Buyer looking to join a successful and growing manufacturing business?

NOTE Basildon is a leading Contract Electronics Manufacturer, providing complete manufacturing solutions to customers across a wide range of industries. We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join our Commercial team and help ensure the timely supply of materials and components to support customer and production requirements.

The Role

As Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing materials and components, managing supplier relationships and ensuring material availability to support production schedules. You'll play a key role in managing shortages, expediting deliveries, and maintaining accurate purchasing data within our MRP systems.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Obtaining and negotiating supplier quotations
2. Raising and managing purchase orders
3. Monitoring MRP messages and material requirements
4. Managing supplier deliveries, reschedules and expedites
5. Supporting production through effective shortage management

About You
