About the role...

As Beauty Buyer, you will drive trade for the beauty category by sourcing and recommending the appropriate ranges of products in line with market trends and performance. You will support the category with a 360 approach and work closely with key teams such as merchandising, online, marketing, PR, media, CRM, digital, social media, distribution, and retail. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing, monitoring, and evaluating supplier performance, conducting operational and strategic reviews to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Developing and implementing category plans, range reviews, promotions, and pricing strategies aligned with financial goals, reviewing their effectiveness regularly.
  • Conducting omnichannel sales analysis and strategic planning.
  • Maintaining strong awareness of trends and latest beauty products, innovations, and new brands, reacting to industry demands.
  • Preparing and presenting sales and profit reports in weekly/monthly meetings.
  • Building relationships with UK and international brands through effective communication.
  • Managing business goals and driving initiatives for growth.
  • Using data analysis to inform decisions, produce insights, and review performance.
  • Managing budgets, sales, and profit forecasting to ensure growth.
  • Selecting and negotiating terms for a commercial product range for stores and online, ensuring margin and stock turn targets are met.
  • Planning and recommending strategies to improve sales performance, including visual merchandising, promotional activities, staff training, and marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinating with Press, Marketing, Media, CRM, and Digital teams to maximize brand visibility and coverage.
  • Collaborating with the retail team to support shopfloor needs and communicate buying strategies.
  • Representing Harvey Nichols as a brand ambassador in the industry.
  • Managing, developing, and mentoring the buying team, setting objectives and workload priorities.
