Job summary

Ethero Strategic Staffing is recruiting a Buyer for an 18-month FTC in Telford. You will manage procurement for production and non-production materials, develop category strategies, negotiate pricing and terms, and implement supplier risk management.

Working in a collaborative team, you will coordinate with suppliers, drive cost savings, and ensure on-time in-full delivery while maintaining stock levels and processes via Ariba.

Qualifications

• Have extensive experience within manufacturing/production purchasing.

• Experience with fast-paced manufacturing environments (FMCG) and procurement processes.
• Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Implement risk management and continuity planning.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on supplier development and specification optimization.
• Assist with supplier selection and set-up via Ariba.
• Develop and implement supplier performance reporting including OTIF and quality.
• MRP demand analysis and timely PO generation.
• Maintain stock levels and supplier communications.

Job role / details

• Manage all procurement & purchasing related functions for production & non-production materials & services.
• Develop category strategies for key raw materials, packaging, and critical services; build resilient dual/multi-sourcing where needed.
• Negotiate pricing, T&Cs, SLAs; deliver cost savings and value engineering initiatives.
• Implement risk management (market volatility, geopolitical risk, single-source exposure) and continuity planning.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on specification optimisation and supplier development
• Assist with new supplier selection & manage supplier set up & PO communication via Ariba.
• Develop & implement process to evaluate & report on supplier performance considering OTIF & quality.
• MRP demand analysis, purchase order generation and expedition ensuring timely supply of materials and services in line with stock holding & expenditure targets.
• Manage applicable stock levels in line with company objectives.
• Supplier liaison and management, maintaining clear and timely lines of communication.
• Create, review & maintain purchasing processes and procedures.
• Maintain purchasing databases and files including contracts, pricing, orders etc and provide reports to internal stakeholders.
• Review & monitor contractual position with all applicable suppliers and manage timely renewal.
• Cover Supply Chain departmental roles as and when required.

To Be Considered For This Role You MUST

• Have extensive experience within manufacturing/production purchasing
• Be experienced with all Microsoft Office Applications
• Possess experience of a fast paced manufacturing/FMCG environment
• Ideally be CIPS qualified or working towards
• Possess excellent verbal & written communication skillsps, pivot tables etc
• Be enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated
