Job summary

The Range in Plymouth is seeking a dynamic Buyer to join our Head Office team. You will manage our customer offer, work closely with the Head of Buying to develop the range, and build long‑term supplier relationships to deliver value and strong availability.

Essentially you’ll combine strategic and analytical thinking with FMCG buying experience, in a fast‑paced environment. This permanent, full‑time role is based in Plymouth with standard Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying FMCG products and negotiating with suppliers.
• Strong understanding of the consumer and the marketplace.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent strategic and analytical thinking with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• You will have primary accountability for maximizing sales, margin & profitability in this fast moving and diverse category.
• You will lead a team building long term supplier relationships to deliver a successful product offer.
• You will have ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the product strategy and ensuring that the business meets customer needs.
• You will monitor & review competitor information to ensure your product offering stays relevant in a changing market.
• You will play a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions & pricing.
• You will work with your cross-functional team to ensure we deliver great product availability and quality.

About the role:

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Buyer to manage our customer offer. You will work closely with the Head of Buying to enhance The Range’s offering. Developing relationships with new and existing Suppliers whilst ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business.
