We are seeking the right individual to join the Supply Chain team, part of the wider Operations department, working closely with colleagues in Production, Quality, NPI, Engineering, Logistics and Sales. This is a full-time role reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Manager and based in Milton Keynes, with an occasional requirement to visit UK suppliers.

As a Buyer you will be responsible for Supply Chain related issues, including Purchase Order creation and Materials scheduling.

Responsibilities Include, Although Are Not Limited To The Following

  • Assist in efficient mechanisms for stock management and materials scheduling.
  • Ensure the speedy and accurate processing of Purchase Orders.
  • Contribute to the development of the effectiveness of the ERP system.
  • Improve stock management in line with targets set.
  • Eliminate data errors and their sources and develop error checking reports.
  • Creation of KPI data and associated charts.
  • Continuous improvement of frameworks which drive supplier performance.
  • Serve as point of contact for developing supplier relationships.

What Makes You An Asset To Our Team

  • Experience of Materials Supply/Production in Engineering/Electronics environment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools along with ERP systems SAP.
  • Confidence in decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.
  • A positive, professional attitude and a desire to complete tasks to the highest standard, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive, practical and hands-on approach to dealing with issues and problems.
  • A team player willing and able to collaborate actively and effectively with colleagues, gaining respect from those around them.
  • A good communicator at all levels, with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to perform under pressure.
  • Desirable:
    • Holding or studying for CIPS qualification.
    • Experience and understanding of implementing improvements within industry.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Good education preferably to degree level or equivalent.
