Job summary

Essity is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement across multiple UK locations. You will lead sourcing, supplier selection, RFQs and negotiations, while mitigating risk and driving cost savings. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver effective purchasing and continuously improve procurement processes.

The role supports our UK Procurement Operations and can be based from Trafford Park, Skelmersdale, Stubbins or Oakenholt sites. Application end date is 23 Nov 2026.

Qualifications

• Extensive industrial procurement experience across manufacturing, chemicals, or engineering environments.
• Strong capability in competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Proven ability to manage commercial risk and support engineering or Capex related procurement.
• Experience with procurement systems and governance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost savings and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to consolidate spend and improve efficiency.
• Implement procurement strategies and ensure compliance with Essity policies and procedures.
• Build strong, sustainable supplier relationships and support supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing data, including contracts, catalogues and source lists.
• Use S4 and Ariba to execute sourcing activities and support efficient buying processes.
• Share best practice across Procurement and identify opportunities to improve systems and ways of working.

Who You Are

• Extensive experience: gained within industrial procurement, preferably within manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, engineering or another technically demanding environment.
• Commercial capability: Strong experience in competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management and managing commercial risk. Exposure to engineering services, maintenance or Capex would be particularly valuable.
• Stakeholder management: Confident and credible when dealing with operational stakeholders, able to challenge constructively and manage competing priorities.
• Organisation and autonomy: Highly structured, proactive and comfortable managing complex workloads with limited supervision.
• Process improvement: Experience of working within established procurement systems and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, governance, and ways of working.
• Team fit: Collaborative, willing to share expertise and capable of bringing new ideas and higher standards to an established team.
