About the Role

We areseeking an experienced Food Ingredient / Chemical Buyer to join our procurement team based in Kingswinford. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality food ingredients & Chemicals while ensuring cost efficiency and supplier reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food industry trends, supplier relationships, Far East purchasing and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase food ingredients & chemicals in line with company quality, cost, and sustainability standards

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers

• Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and ingredient availability

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies

• Identify and evaluate new ingredient suppliers to enhance product offerings

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer/Purchasing Specialist in the food / chemical industry

• Strong knowledge of food ingredients, supply chain management, and procurement processes

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Familiarity with food safety regulations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
