Job Opportunity: Buyer at Kinetic Recruitment

Kinetic Recruitment is currently sourcing a permanent Buyer to work in Gateshead at our client's engineering facility. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for a range of procurement activities, including materials, commodities, and services, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality.

The Role:

1. Following up with suppliers
2. Expediting purchase orders
3. Managing purchase order confirmations
4. Invoice reconciliation
5. Contacting vendors regarding discrepancies
6. Updating the team and stakeholders about delays or issues
7. Stock control and buying reports
8. Researching new products and suppliers
9. Negotiating contracts with suppliers
10. Presenting cost analyses
11. Maintaining records of supplier contracts
12. Staying updated with industry and market trends
13. Maintaining strong vendor relationships
14. Remaining calm in stressful situations
15. Participating in personal development and training (CIPS)
16. Performing any other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager

Skills and Experience:

• Purchasing or Supply Chain qualification or working towards it
• Experience in a buying or procurement role
• Manufacturing environment experience (beneficial)
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Fully on-site role
