Job summary

Sphere Solutions is recruiting an experienced Buyer for a permanent role in Exeter to join a leading groundworks & civil engineering contractor. The role focuses on securing the best prices for construction materials in line with project contracts and reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Key duties include procuring materials at competitive prices, analysing supplier quotes, researching product information, coordinating with site teams and managing stock lists.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Buyer in construction, civil engineering or groundworks preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills essential.
• Ability to analyse supplier quotes and pricing in relation to tender allowances.

We're looking for an experienced Buyer to join a leading groundworks & civil engineering contractor. This is a key position within the procurement function, where you'll be responsible for securing the best prices for construction products and materials in line with project contracts. You'll report to the Commercial Manager and play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities include:

• Procuring materials at the most competitive prices

• Have a sound understanding of market research and pricing analysis


• Be confident working closely with senior management
