Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the buyer/scheduler will be responsible for MRP scheduling, purchasing, and maintaining the supplier interface for specific commodities.

The buyer will ensure that the business secures the best quality, pricing, payment terms, and contracts for products and services it purchases.

Skills/Experience:

• HND or above preferred, but relevant purchase experience will be considered.
• IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems is advantageous.
• Experience dealing with electronic parts is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing daily ordering processes to ensure goods arrive on time to meet MRP demand.
• Communicating any supply issues that may impact business operations.
• Interfacing with Operations and Projects on new part introductions.
• Maintaining forward project costings to ensure project margins are preserved.
• Supporting the generation of supplier KPIs when required.
• Collaborating closely with the procurement team and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
• Adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Maintaining professional relationships with internal and external suppliers.
• Conducting research for new components and suppliers as needed.
• Resolving supplier issues related to price, quality, delivery, or invoicing.
