This role is onsite in Cheltenham. We do not offer Hybrid or Remote Working.

The Role

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Commercial Team, reporting to project Commercial Leads and ultimately to the Commercial Team Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the commercial performance of procurement decisions across various Healthcare schemes. You will have a construction background with a focus on managing the acquisition of modular and elemental components and services. You will ensure all aspects of module assembly and site fit-out are completed efficiently.

You will be responsible for evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, prices, and ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and adherence to specifications. Staying informed on market trends, regulations, and technological advancements will be key to making informed procurement decisions. Occasional site visits to suppliers will help you build relationships and assess their manufacturing processes.

Effective communication, negotiation, and both independent and collaborative work will be essential for success in this fast-paced role. You will be tasked with monitoring procurement trackers, tracking supplier performance, and ensuring timely deliveries in line with company SOPs.

Additionally, you will play a strategic role in nurturing supplier relationships, advancing rebate opportunities, and ensuring that all contractual conditions are met with purchase and subcontract orders. Attention to detail will be crucial to maintaining high standards and delivering results.

• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to align with cost plan allowances and deliver cost improvements.
• Pro-actively manage suppliers to ensure timely delivery, including during changes to original purchase order requirements.
• Identify alternative suppliers to expand the existing supply chain.
• On-board new suppliers and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Recognise and prioritise urgent purchasing needs for factory or site deadlines.
• Manage plant hire budgets and track off-hire confirmations.
• Engage in process improvement and change control activities.
