Wright Staff Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Buyer in Pershore, Worcestershire. The role supports production by raising purchase orders, forecasting with suppliers and managing on-time delivery. The successful candidate will work with ERP systems, manage budgets, and drive cost reductions across direct and indirect materials.

The position is full-time, with standard hours and a Friday finish. Benefits include pension, cycle-to-work, health and wellbeing programs, and ongoing development

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 1-3 years' experience in the same role and in a similar environment.
• Aptitude for figures and experience with managing a budget.
• Experience of developing and implementing Purchasing processes and procedures which drive improvements in material availability and inventory levels.
• Experience of working with an ERP system (1 year required).

Aufgaben

• Raise and maintain purchase orders for direct and indirect materials to support production requirements.
• Provide forecasts and schedules to suppliers to maintain ongoing supply in line with customer demands.
• Actively manage supplier on-time delivery performance and open orderbook to control expenditure.
• Liaise with Logistics and Accounts teams to manage Goods-In discrepancies to a conclusion.
• Monitor material receipts to minimise Goods-In transactions errors.
• Expedite material shortages to meet urgent business needs.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to drive cost reductions.
• Identify opportunities to install Kanban/ direct line feed by commodity.

Duties

• Raise and maintain purchase orders for direct and indirect materials to support production requirements
• Provide forecasts and schedules to suppliers where appropriate to maintain ongoing supply in line with customer demands
• Actively manage and report supplier on time delivery performance - fully utilising typical orderbook management protocols to ensure material availability
• Actively manage an open orderbook to control expenditure in line with customer demand and to support business cashflow
• Liaise with Logistics and Accounts teams to manage Goods-In discrepancies to an effective conclusion
• Monitor material receipts in line with schedules to help minimise Goods-In transactions error
• Expedite material shortages as required to meet urgent business needs
• Manage inventory levels, seeking opportunities to reduce inventory wherever practical
• Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with suppliers for new and existing materials and services to drive cost reduction opportunities
• Seek opportunities to install Kanban / direct line feed by commodity
• Identify and select new suppliers for materials as and when required
• Manage positive supplier partnership-based relationships

Qualifications

• A level qualification or equivalent
• CIPS qualified, or working toward
• Degree educated (Desirable)

Experience
