The Role

As a Buyer, you'll be the focal point for the Delivery Team, managing the bought-out needs of the programme in collaboration with stakeholders. You'll work with the Senior Buyer and Project Procurement Manager to procure goods and services at the best total acquisition cost.

• Maintain supply chain information through order book management and reporting
• Identify value opportunities and leverage points
• Facilitate supplier relationships, including visits and point of contact duties
• Prepare, issue, and review supplier RFQs, recommending preferred options
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for goods/services

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, offering flexible hybrid working with some days onsite and others remote.

Essential Experience

• Proven track record in a supply chain role, preferably in Defence or Engineering
• Background in Purchasing within Manufacturing or Engineering (desirable)
• Experience with operational procurement (desirable)
• Knowledge of commercial practices and strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards membership of a relevant professional body, e.g., Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at Level 4 or higher

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance. You can start on BPSS clearance but will need SC clearance in due course.
