Job summary

Holdsworth Foods is hiring an Assistant to join the Butchery team at our Tideswell depot. No previous butchery experience required; training for the full butcher role can be provided.

You will support sausage and burger production, packing, measuring weights, and following hygiene rules for fresh meats. We offer competitive pay, staff discounts, death-in-service benefit, healthcare cash plan, an employee assistance program, and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong knife skills and ability to handle sharp objects safely.
• Interest/understanding of different cuts of meat and their uses.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Butcher techniques preferred but can be trained for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Support with the production of sausages and burgers.
• Pack meats appropriately.
• Weigh and record the weights as required.
• Follow hygiene rules in handling of fresh meats.
• Be responsible for receiving deliveries and to check delivery against orders.
• Be responsible for the correct storage and that the correct temperature is maintained.
