Job summary

Middlesbrough College is seeking a Tutor Assessor in Business to work with apprentices in Middlesbrough. You will combine teaching, coaching, mentoring and assessment to help learners build knowledge, skills and confidence for finance and business careers.

This role offers a part-time, permanent contract within the NSG Professional Skills department, with a focus on accountancy apprentices and collaboration with employers to drive progression.

Qualifications

• A relevant Accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Assessor qualification (or willingness to achieve).
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of accountancy apprenticeship and training learners, ensuring progress and qualifications.
• Deliver teaching, learning and assessment activities aligned with apprenticeship standards.
• Conduct regular learner reviews, provide feedback and interventions to support success.
• Build relationships with employers to support learner development and programme growth.
• Assess occupational competence and maintain accurate learner records for compliance.
