Job summary

Tara Professional Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Business Teacher / Head of Year for a secondary school in the West Midlands, starting January 2027. The role combines delivering high-quality Business lessons with leading pastoral care for a designated year group.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, have a Business degree, and bring experience teaching at secondary level with strong classroom management and safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Business or related subject.
• Experience teaching Business at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and high expectations.
• Pastoral leadership ability preferred.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Business lessons for a range of abilities.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement.
• Lead and support the pastoral development of a designated year group.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and punctuality.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and carers.
• Work with staff and senior leaders to improve outcomes.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and its improvement.
