Job description

The University of Manchester Facilities Maintenance and Compliance Unit are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Business Support Supervisor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Business Support Manager ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

We are looking for a candidate that can:

  1. Provide administrative support and diary management to the Associate Director of FMC on a range of tasks, organise meetings and liaise with stakeholders on their behalf related to effective management of FMC matters.
  2. Work closely with Deputy Heads, Managers and Supervisors, ensuring high quality and efficient systems are in place to support the work of the professional, technical and support staff, including internal and external stakeholders.

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • RFQ Level 4 or equivalent qualifications in and/or demonstrable professional skills and knowledge to the requirements of the post gained through relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in managing a small team including performance management and development.
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to resolve operational problems and complete tasks.
  • Influencing skills, in relation to advising/guiding reporting staff and other colleagues, gained within a similar role in a comparable working environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills of providing customer service excellence, including sound customer liaison skills, on a similar scope and scale.
