Business Support Officer (FLS)
Job description
We're looking for a Business Support Officer to join our Business Support Team in the Central Region on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hybrid role based at our West Calder office where you'll be expected to attend three days per week.
The Business Support Team provides administrative support to staff across Central Region in the delivery of forestry and environmental management activities. Covering an area that stretches from Edinburgh and South Fife through the Central Belt to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and Cowal, the team plays a key role in supporting the effective operation of the business. We provide support across a range of activities including procurement, finance, permissions, training coordination, business sustainability, fleet administration and customer enquiries.
As a Business Support Officer, you will play an important role in providing professional administrative support across the region. Your responsibilities will include coordinating training, administering vehicle, machinery and equipment fleets, processing land-based permission requests, supporting business sustainability initiatives, managing local administration of the Peoplesafe lone working platform, and providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also support the day-to-day operation of the West Calder office, including reception duties, handling enquiries, accepting deliveries and providing secretariat support when required.
To be successful, you'll need experience working in a coordinating role with a range of stakeholders, alongside experience handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally. You should be able to manage your own workload, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Office packages is essential. Desirable experience includes fleet administration, building management and data processing.
