The Flying Start programme in Cardiff sits within Cardiff Early Help. Cardiff Early Help is an innovative and progressive service within the Children Services directorate in Cardiff
Council. Cardiff Early Help consists of several multi-professional teams that work
collaboratively, as well as with partners, to support families.

This role is overseen by the Childcare Placements and Contract Monitoring Officer.
The primary responsibility of the postholder is to assist in the allocation of Flying Start childcare for eligible children residing in Expansion Phase 2 areas. They will identify eligible families based on data provided by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, ensuring that newly eligible or recently relocated children receive appropriate childcare support.
Key duties include managing data, sending notifications to families, and assisting some families with the completion of childcare access forms. Additionally, the postholder will support the Childcare Placements and Contract Monitoring Officer in compiling and accurately reporting monthly data to the Welsh Government.
The right postholder will have experience of working in an office environment and an interest in supporting families with proven experience of working in a multi-professional team.
We require someone that works well with others, can establish and maintain positive working relationships and has the ability to identify, anticipate and assess short-, mid- and long-term risks.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable and can work comfortably
with change. The post holder will be proficient with using Microsoft Office applications
including emails, spread sheets, and word documents.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh alongside other community languages would be an advantage.
