Job summary

Surrey County Council is advertising a permanent Business Support Assistant role in the Learning Disability & Autism and Transitions Adult Social Care team. The post offers hybrid working with 2–3 days in person and the remainder from home, based in Reigate, Surrey.

The starting salary is £28,546 per annum for a 36-hour week, with generous leave and pension provisions. The role involves front-line enquiry handling, database maintenance, and coordination across teams to support service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries, providing a professional and empathetic response and ensuring queries are directed appropriately
  • Maintain and update systems and databases, ensuring accurate records are kept supporting service delivery and reporting
  • Prepare and send out correspondence, reports, and documentation to support operational and management teams
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments, including diary management, room bookings, preparation of materials and note taking
  • Support resource management, following ordering procedures to ensure the hub has the supplies and tools needed to operate effectively
  • Work collaboratively across teams, adapting to changing priorities and supporting colleagues in a flexible and agile way
  • Contribute to service improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the quality of administrative support.

Job description

This permanent role has a starting salary of £28,546 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

We have a great opportunity to join our Learning Disability & Autism and Transitions Adult Social Care team as a Business Support Assistant. We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person for 2-3 days per week on average and support working from home the rest of the time.

About the Role
