Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Support professional to provide effective and efficient admin support to Children Services’ teams. Responsibilities include typing letters, managing correspondence, and taking messages from internal and external customers.

You will input data into the Council’s databases, handle financial duties, and meet deadlines while maintaining excellent written and verbal communication.

Overview

We currently have exciting job opportunities in Corporate Business Support where we have over 300 staff delivering a wide variety of Business Support services across Buckinghamshire Council. We have been operating since April 2012 and we are looking for Individuals with the ability to demonstrate the Buckinghamshire Council's values.

About the role

Working as part of a team, you will provide effective and efficient administrative support to Children Service's Teams.

Your duties will be varied and include: Typing letters, managing correspondence, receiving telephone calls and taking messages from both internal and external customers, note taking at meetings, inputting to the Councils databases and electronic systems, financial responsibilities, meeting deadlines and other general administrative duties.

You must be able to work flexibly to respond to service demand, be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise a varied and challenging workload efficiently, have both good verbal and written communication and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Any-Desk

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you
  • Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of taking meeting minutes.
  • Educated to GCSE / NVQ2 standard or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
  • Keen to learn and able to juggle priorities effectively, often with conflicting demands.
  • Caring and helpful and able to work as part of a team.
  • Customer focused and has a can do attitude.

  • Full Time 37 hours - based in either Aylesbury or High Wycombe (Permanent Contract)
