Job summary

Choice Teachers is working with a secondary school in the South West London area seeking an enthusiastic and experienced A-Level & BTEC Business Studies Teacher to join from September 2026. This long-term vacancy offers a consistent role within a supportive department and sixth form environment.

You will teach A-Level and BTEC Business Studies, plan and assess lessons, and contribute to curriculum development while maintaining high standards of behaviour and student engagement.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Experience teaching A-Level Business Studies and/or BTEC Business.
• Strong subject knowledge across core business disciplines.
• Proven ability to achieve strong student outcomes and effective behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Teach A-Level and BTEC Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with examination board specifications.
• Deliver engaging lessons to develop knowledge across marketing, finance, operations, HR, entrepreneurship and business strategy.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support attainment.

Contract: Long-Term Choice Teachers are currently working with a secondary school in the South West London area who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced A-Level & BTEC Business Studies Teacher to join their department from September 2026. We have one long-term Business Studies Teacher vacancy available, offering an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for a consistent role within a supportive secondary school and sixth form environment. The successful A-Level & BTEC Business Studies Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging lessons, developing students' knowledge and understanding of key business concepts including marketing, finance, operations, human resources, entrepreneurship and business strategy across A-Level and BTEC qualifications. Applications are welcomed from experienced Business Studies Teachers, A-Level Business Teachers, BTEC Business Teachers, Economics & Business Teachers and other suitably qualified professionals with relevant classroom experience. About the A-Level & BTEC Business Studies Teacher Role

• Teach A-Level and BTEC Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with examination board specifications
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire student achievement
• Teach key business topics including marketing, finance, operations and entrepreneurship
• Prepare students for examinations, coursework and vocational assessments
• Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support attainment
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic success
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the wider Business and Social Sciences faculty

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching A-Level Business Studies and/or BTEC Business
• Have strong subject knowledge across core business disciplines
• Demonstrate a proven ability to achieve strong student outcomes
• Be confident teaching both academic and vocational pathways
• Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Have strong communication and organisational skills
• Be passionate about developing students' commercial awareness and career aspirations
• Be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning
• Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service
• Experienced teachers and suitable ECTs are encouraged to apply
