A leading and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Business Services Director to lead the department, manage a diverse client portfolio, and guide a team of staff toward strategic growth.

You will review accounts, management information, and tax computations, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s direction while benefiting from flexible working and a strong pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent).
• Experience in a UK practice environment.
• Senior or director-level experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.

You will play a pivotal role in leading the Business Services department, managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing a team of qualified and part-qualified staff, and contributing directly to the strategic direction of the firm.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Manage and develop a diverse portfolio of business services clients


• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified staff


• Review accounts, management information, and tax computations prepared by the team


• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services


• Contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the department

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)


• Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment


• Proven experience at a senior or director level within an accountancy practice


• Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills


• Sound technical knowledge of UK GAAP and current tax legislation
